And If you dig deaper youll realize that the german media conglomerates are owned by alot of the same people that have huge stakes in the american media. Media is media. Reouters, AP, Herse, etc. There are maybe 10 major players world wide. Every story is put under the money microscope, and weather you think your media is free or not doesnt matter it might very well be one day but gone the next..
Has for Assange I hope he catches a bullet.
Why? because he got hold of a lot of info that had a tiny amount of things that show how nasty America is but mosty how stupid they are for giving a private access to unencripted documents which every single government already knows about because the USA makes it easy to spy on them?
No, Because he turned his back on his country. He is a traitor. I could care less what our ambasador to China thinks of the Chinese. Its a fundamental thing, he commited treason and needs to pay for his crime. Assange just ****es me off, generally comes across has a guy who really doesnt care about stoping genocide or what not and just wants to cause alot of chaos.

The crap he found isnt worth the bullet. Its not like another watergate and most of the stuff the public already knows. At worst its prison worthy.
What is interesting is just how badly the USA is reacting to this. The arse licking up to governments and the vindictive assaults on wikileaks is doing more damage than what was leaked.
I don't care how insignificant it was. He leaked it, he is a traitor. It sets an example. "Well that guy got death for leaking some videos of some journalists getting shot up, I wonder what they will do to me if I release this list of places my government considers High value."

The difference is one is justified while the other is not. Everyone in the UK was thankfull for the person who leaked the footage of the US warplane that opened up on our tanks in iraq.
Betraying your country is never justified. There were legal means to get the footage.

... Assange is not a USian.
Maybe you would've been aware of this fact already if you had kept that head of yours out of Sarah Palin's ass, and breathed something that wasn't her rectal fumes for a change.
But besides that point, your argument is simply retarded. Corruption and abuse of power should be exposed and fought, no matter your what your passport says.
Im talking about the american private first class. And No, Im sorry governments need secrets. If you dont like government go live in somolia where there hardly is one. Im a gun loving, pailin hating Alaskan who supports socializing healthcare and taxing the rich. Pailin is a dumb broad who doesnt represent more than 2% of the american population in the slightest. Thanks to my government Im allowed to have opinions based upon whatever reason I deem neccesary. Im also allowed to own firearms to rise up against that same government when I feel it has become corrupt, that is what our second amendment was made for.

where ?
also USA never gived the soldiers that killed Jose Couso
also Teo Peter
Quote: Peter was killed in a traffic accident at 4:30am on December 4, 2004 when 31-year-old U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant Christopher Van Goethem serving as a Marine Security Guard at the U.S. embassy in Bucharest[3], while driving his Ford Expedition, collided with a taxi carrying Peter.drunk Van Goethem, did not obey a traffic signal to stop, which resulted in the collision. Peter was buried on December 7 in Mănăştur Cemetery, in his native Cluj-Napoca.[4]
Van Goethem's blood alcohol content was estimated at 0.09 from a breathalyzer test, but he refused to give a blood sample for further testing and left for Germany[5] before charges could be filed in Romania. The Romanian government requested the American government lift his diplomatic immunity,[6] which it has refused to do. The Marine was later cleared by a court martial of both manslaughter and adultery while convicted for obstruction of justice and making false statements.
Peter's death and Van Goethem's court martial were very controversial and led to protests from Romanians[7] in the United States.
Court martial cleared him. If the romanian government wanted to change its immunity agreement it could, its the cost of doing politics in foreing countries. If it wasnt a US marine, then it would of been just another drunk driving accident. Other countries have immunity here and there are similar cases. Linkage

I think the Romanians expected better from a country that holds freedom and the rule of law so high.
The UK learned better decades ago that we cannot count on the USA to respect other nations laws. We are still waiting for the USA to hand over the people found responsible for beaching an oil tanker.
Im glad you learned you lesson, Romania would do well to follow suite.

How is helping protect our Constitutionally and judicially guaranteed rights political? Especially when he mentioned nothing of the actual contents of the speech?
Hes asking for people to support a political organization. Thus making the whole topic political. if he was asking to mirror, say the Childs Play website. Then it would be different. But he is trying to help people with political agendas and a political platform.

+1 Mr. Assange.
BTW the WikiLeaks did disclose the most damaging information of all...it revealed that WE canadians are self obsessed with our personal image in the eyes of Americans and we have anti-american TV shows....Go Canada.
Lobbyists. You dont have to support a candidate, just a political thought or idea to be a political organization.

Wikileaks didnothing that broken a law in the US. Thats your problem with the 'right of free speech'.
What are you, ****ing high? Whatever side of the fence you're on, that's fine, but these are CLASSIFIED documents and just because they've been leaked doesn't mean they're not classified anymore, ESPECIALLY to the ones who leaked them. That's why it's called WikiLEAKS, not WIKIPEDIA.
Sorry, but this is the government that thinks "If you've got nothing to hide, why hide it?". They're just not happy that the shoe is on the other foot now.
If the people are not allowed to hide things from their governments, then the same should apply to governments hiding things from their people. Don't like it? Lump it.
Why Hide it when I can register them all in a federal database?
